NZIEH Centennial Professional Development Conference.
This year NZIEH brings you presentations from innovative, tech-savvy and future-focused leaders who are changing the way our profession moves forward.
Our top-notch contributors at this year’s three-day conference will dive deep into what this means for Environmental Heath Officers in New Zealand.
Join us for three days of change makers telling their stories about how they are leaping forward and battling through road blocks to better the environmental health profession as a whole. Take what they’ve learnt and see how you can implement this in your own career.
Since retiring from professional sport, John has opened up to New Zealand and shared his personal story of depression, resilience and hope.
His journey has led him to an active involvement with mental health awareness campaigns in New Zealand where he speaks openly about his battle.
A 25 year career aboard the rescue helipcopters saw Dave given the nickname, ‘Rescue Dave’, which stuck.
Today, Dave uses his training and experiences from the helicopter to help teams create a TRUST culture, and to help individuals become a TRUSTED member of a team, ensuring they can work more effectively in high-pressure situations.
John, a published author, has been a teacher, pastoral assistant, university chaplain, counsellor, Race Relations mediator, Life Skills tutor, psychodramatist and trainer of counsellors in a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility.
For the past twenty years he has assisted people to manage emotions at work in NZ, the Pacific and Bangladesh through the award winning TUF: Thriving Under Fire programme. He is an engaging conference presenter and loves to teach with humour.
